It's been almost a month since I started the project to change my website host from Squarespace to Shopify. I'm a lot closer to being there than I was a few days ago but it has been a painful experience. It was originally supposed to take 6 hours and then some more time tweaking the finished product. I wound up spending 3 14 hour days manually adding 173 products, 1700 pictures, 173 videos and verifying the that both my ETSY store and my website had the same inventory. At the same time we did a physical inventory (there were some surprises there!).
So, I've really learned a lot about organizing a Shopify store in the last few days. It's been sort of like being taken to the lake to learn to swim and being tossed out of the boat a hundred yards from shore. Sheer panic! I knew I could do it but what I really wanted was an instructor/mentor to teach me what I needed to know in an organized, non-threatening way. My teacher/mentor had an emergency involving her elderly mother who was hospitalized after a serious injury.
The main issue is just learning where everything is, how to edit it or refine it and most important, making it a welcome place to visit and shop.
Please bear with me while I refine my new storefront. It's been a lot of trial and error. AS soon as I get it finished, I will reward your patience with a grand re-opening sale of epic proportion.
