One of my favorites to turn is wild cherry. The wood is close grained, dense and really smalls nice when you are turning it. It’s not the only fruitwood I turn though. I just turned this cherry bowl this week. It has a bell shaped rim which is kind of fun to turn.

This small pear jewelry dish has an interesting story (and a new owner) but you can still see it in Sold But Not Forgotten. The wood is hard as a rock. Very dense grain and smooth like a polished stone. I have a little of it left and will make another bowl soon.
