When we got to his house there was wood stored everywhere. The sapele was in his living room and one bedroom. I bought out most of his stock. This pommele sapele wood bowl has lots of figure and really shows it when you turn it in the light. Pommele is the French term for dappled and it is especially apt for describing highly figured woods like pommele sapele. It’s very hard to capture the chatoyance with the camera but the figure does really look 3-D.
