#2800 Spalted Tiger Maple Wooden Bowl (4 3/4" x 1 3/8")

This very small spalted tiger maple jewelry dish came from a piece of firewood.  I have a woodstove in my shop to augment the heat pump in the winter.  I generate a lot of saw dust and small scraps over the year and I burn that along with regular sized firewood.  I spotted this piece of firewood and immediately knew there were beautiful bowls inside.  Here is one of them.  I also have a picture of the actual firewood.  The coloration is gray, amber and tan with transition lines around the spalting.  This dish has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot.  It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
