#2817 Wormy White Oak Burl Wooden Bowl (6" x 1")

This bowl was made from a crotch burl from a huge white oak tree that was felled in a storm in the early 1980's.  When the logs were sawn at the saw mill I found a musket ball, half in one plank and the other half in the next plank.  It was probably lodged in the tree during or around the time of the civil war.  Most of the tree was used to make the stairs, counters and dining table in the house we built in 1994.  The crotch burls I've been saving ever since.  This bowl has a patch of worm holes (the worms have long since departed) and wonderful marble like figure.  It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
