This very shallow, small wild black cherry wooden ring dish has lovely amber curly growth ring transition lines.  There is very faint quilt figure that you can see when you turn it in the light.  I love the sharp transition from rim to dish, it acts like a picture frame.  The coloration is pink, copper, amber and gold.  I got this short plank from a lumber distributor in Pennsylvania as a figured cut off.  Though the figure is subtle, i really like this little dish (my wife wants to keep it!)  It has a rounded, slightly curved taper, sharply undercut rim and a raised foot.  It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
