A Scary But Exciting Day Ahead

Today I’m joining the legions of ecommerce websites on Shopify. I have been on Squarespace for about 8 years. Squarespace is OK but has absolutely no support and a lousy help library. If you have a problem you are directed to the forum where independent web designers help answer questions. I guess the return for them is if you hire them to fix your problem. Squarespace is not really geared to small businesses like mine.
Shopify does have a help center and what I have read, they really are helpful. They specialize in helping small businesses grow and flourish. I can’t grow too much, I’m only making about 15% more than I’m selling but I can probably make 15-20% more if I had the business. I don’t want employees. I’m very happy with my one man operation after working 45 years with lots of other people (and bosses).
The daunting part is the migration and the huge amount of work that follows. I hope my website won’t be down for very long, it just depends on how smooth the migration is. Fingers crossed! I’ve hired my favorite web guru from Nav Creative NW out of Oregon. They have been working with me since I joined Squarespace.
I will post again when the new site is up and running. It will have the same web address:

Thank you for supporting me and reading my blog over the years.
