Back To School

Last week I attended a course at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.  The course was on turning footed bowls, platters and vessels.  The process involves turning the inside and some of the outside of a piece and power carving the rest.  It was taught by Alan Hollar, a very fine woodturner who specializes in footed vessels.  The school was wonderful though it snowed and was pretty cold all week.  The food was great and the people on the staff and the attendees were all very nice.  Alan does not have to worry about competition from me.  While I enjoyed the class it is not something I want to do all day every day.

Here are a few of my latest pieces.

#777 Natural Edge Wild Black Cherry Crotch Bowl $398.00

#764 Oak Burl Bowl $57.00
