Ten Very Good Reasons To Buy From Me This Holiday Season
Because I make very beautiful stuff (bowls, hollow forms, cutting boards, puzzles) priced from $39.00 to $1999.00.

2. Because I’m old and you need to hurry if you want the opportunity to make me very happy!
Wearing my full face shield with progressive lens glasses. The cartridges filter out both dust and vapors.
3. It will make my dog Oscar very happy. He likes to go to the post office in the truck. When he hears the label printer whirring, he races to the door.
4. It will make my wife happy! She shares the business with me (she’s Sanders Woodworking, Inc. DBA Pennie’s Place). Your purchase means there is more money for her to spend on fabric. That makes her very happy which makes me happy too!
One of the smaller craft shows Pennie and my daughter Sarah did recently.
5. So I can pay my electric bill. I put all LED tubes in the shop (130 of them!) to reduce my carbon footprint and lower my electric bill. I heat and cool with a very high efficiency mini-split but I work in the shop 7 days a week. I also burn wood scrap and firewood in my woodstove during the winter to augment the mini-split.
That Craft woodstove is 45 years old and still works like new. It could use a coat of hi-temp black paint though.
6. You will be supporting the arts and artisans like me. I have to compete with bowl making factories in Turkey that sell olive wood bowls for less than I can buy olive wood (olive wood is quite pretty by the way.) You will be supporting an artist that cuts the tree into bowl blanks, turns the bowl green (freshly cut) then dries it for a year before turning it a second time to make a finished bowl.
That is one of the 8 racks of dry bowls waiting to be turned again.
7. Because you have really good taste. If you are reading this you’re probably smart, very attractive and know the value of heirloom crafts. If you’re not attractive, hold up the beautiful piece you bought from me and no one will notice that you’re not.
I’m in the middle of finishing this beautiful small birdseye maple bowl this afternoon.
8. Because you can’t own too many beautiful things! These pieces are heirlooms that can be passed down through the generations.
I finished this quilted redwood bowl last week. This wood is very rare and very beautiful in my opinion. I’ve had the piece of wood since 2012.
9. It would have made my Mom and Dad proud. My father died at 49, much too early to suit me but my mother made it to 88 before she passed away in 2012. She got to see my business grow and my skills improve. She was very fond of the puzzles I make.
This is the large puzzle with 32 pieces. I also make a small one with 16 pieces. I started making these in the early 1970’s.
10. Because supporting the arts (and artists) is the noble thing to do. You’re going to be buying a bunch of gifts for people for the holidays anyway so you might as well buy some from me.
