The Best Laid Plans

Okay, half day green turning didn’t happen today. I attacked the pallet of mulberry burl instead. I cut off a thick slab and turned a nice sized bowl from half the slab. It’s basically dry. It’s dry enough to finish turn. I’ve had them for several years.

On the pallet beside the mulberry is a huge cherry burl. There are two burl caps 18” in diameter and the center slab is almost 30” in diameter and all of it is sound. After the mulberry I’l start on the cherry.

Below is the pile of logs I really, really need to get working on. Tomorrow for sure. Absolutely for sure. I think.
