This small dry vase, weed pot is made from a piece of big leaf maple burl from the Pacific Northwest.  Big leaf maple burl is one of my favorite things to turn.  The figure is beautiful and there is a nice variety of colors.  The wood is so dense that the surface feels more like polished stone than wood.  This tiny piece would be perfect with dried flowers in a window sill.  It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
