This black walnut crotch burl wine stopper comes from a piece of native NC walnut.  This burl comes from the intersection of a branch and the trunk of the tree.  If you look closely at a mature tree where a branch comes off the trunk you will see ripples in the bark.  With any luck, under that bark is a beautiful crotch burl.  This stopper has a Niles BR-9000 brass fixture with nitrile o-rings.  The wood has a natural, food safe, oil finish.
