This pecan bell bowl has a repaired drying stress crack (hence the name Liberty Bell bowl). You can see the repaired crack in the second picture, near the bud scar. This is a bell rimmed, heavy bottom bowl with bark inclusions and bud scars. Pecan is heavy and hard to turn. This particular pecan has a high silica content which dulls the tools during turning. This pecan tree was 30" in diameter at the base, a big pecan tree! It has a bell rim and a raised foot with a food safe, natural, oil finish.
