#2822 White Oak Crotch Burl Wooden Ring Dish (5 5/8" x 5/8")

This small white oak crotch burl ring dish is made from a huge white oak tree that was felled in a storm in the early 1980's.  We had the logs quartersawn and used most of the lumber to build our house in 1994.  All of the knots, crotch burls and cutoffs I saved including the small piece I made this dish from which was beside a very large knot.  There is a one and a half inch long stress crack that has been repaired.  This dish has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a small raised foot.  It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
