Before and After

I’ve written before about the joy of discovering a beautiful bowl when you finish turn a dry green bowl. The first picture below is one of the bowls I turned today. It is covered in wax and accumulated dust. It sat on the shelf for over a year drying and waiting to be finish turned.

The bottom picture is of this same bowl after finish turning but before final sanding. What a beauty. it has some crotch burl and a tight knot. I really like the light and dark growth rings too!
