What You See
I have tried very hard to limit my exposure to people outside of my immediate family, It just makes sense. I only go out if it’s essential and I always wear a mask and social distance. With all of that said, I started having trouble with my vision and suspected my glasses so I had to schedule a visit with my ophthalmologist. Turns out I couldn’t read any line on the eye chart with my right eye and not much better with the left. Cataracts in both eyes and a cyst on the retina in my right eye. This was not what I was expecting at all.
Because I have diabetes, I get an eye exam every year by an ophthalmologist. My last exam was a little over a year ago. No issues then. So this all happened in a year.
I’m scheduled for cataract surgery on the right eye in early September. Assuming that goes well I will have retinal surgery on that same eye followed by cataract surgery on the left eye. Oh boy, I can’t wait, but I do really need to see!
