#2086 Spalted Big Leaf Maple Wooden Bowl 6 1/2" x 1"
This small shallow big leaf maple bowl or dish has a stripe of spalting that gives it a very dramatic appearance. It is made from big leaf maple from Oregon. Heavily spalted bowls like this are a challenge to turn because the spalted area is softer than the solid wood. I stiffen the wood with very thin CA (super) glue to give it strength.
You can use this small maple dish as an entryway dish, a ring dish or as a small serving dish.
This bowl has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
