#2531 Natural Edge Wild Dogwood Crotch Burl Wooden Bowl 6 7/8" x 5 7/8"
This dogwood crotch burl bowl moved so much while it was drying that I couldn’t turn it the same thickness. The wall thickness varies by an eighth of an inch and one section is paper thin. I tried making a bowl out of it several times but I was afraid it would explode on the lathe. I finally decided to leave it thick and thin and just make it smooth. The result is quite lovely. This is a native NC dogwood from 30 miles away. The tree was removed but saved for me to make bowls. Dogwood finishes smooth as glass. Food safe, natural, oil finish.
