This large spalted maple fruit bowl has extraordinary color and figure. There are some surface indents from the spalting but nothing structural. The surfaces have been stabilized due to the advanced spalting. I have an inordinate amount of time invested in this bowl because it had to be stabilized after each sanding, about 8 times, but the result is magnificent. This bowl has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish. This bowl would make a spectacular table centerpiece or fruit bowl.
