This small bradford pear bowl has lovely markings. This bowl is the only one in a group of bowls from a tree that did not crack horribly during the drying process. Bradford pear is very fast growing and holds a lot of water in the wood. Bradford pear is now considered an invasive species in NC. There is a bounty program in the state that provides up to 5 native trees for every bradford pear that is cut down. This small bowl has a bud scar and a very smooth finish. It has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a very small raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
