This small wooden jewelry dish is made from curly, quilted big leaf maple from Oregon. Thirteen years ago I was traveling every week with free time in the evening several days a week. I used that time wisely bidding on lots of figured lumber that was for sale on ebay. This dish is made from one of those boards bought at auction. I had to win several pieces in each auction to make it practical to ship across the country at a reasonable price. I got pretty adept at making the last bid. This beautiful piece has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and and a small raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
