This beautiful wild black cherry wood bowl comes from a 200 year old cherry tree. I cut some of the log into planks and this bowl came from one of those planks. As you can see the deep pink/amber coloration is different than bowls from younger trees. The wood is dense and this bowl is heavy for the thickness of the walls. Unusually, this bowl warped after turning. The rim is 1/8” wider in one direction than it is in the other. This bowl has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
