This simple sapele wood dish has wonderful curving growth ring transition lines. Typical of sapele, it is almost iridescent in direct light. You can see that in the video. In one area the growth rings are gummy (not sticky, it’s a response by the tree when it is under attack or stresses) and dark. This dish or plate would work for keys and change, as a butter dish, a serving plate for sliced bread or any other creative use you can think of. All of my products should be used and appreciated. This dish has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
