#2690 Spalted River Birch Wooden Bowl (10 1/8" x 4 1/8")
I spalted this river birch bowl myself but I let the spalting go a little too far. This bowl has very soft spots that have been stabilized but were still difficult to work with. There is a repaired crack and several places where the wood is pitted. Ordinarily I would give this bowl to a family member but it is so beautiful I’m selling it at a reduced price instead. Google’s definition is “Spalting is a type of wood decay caused by fungi that creates decorative patterns, most famously black "zone lines" and areas of white rot.”
