This beautiful spalted maple fruit bowl has stunning figure and color. I particularly like the thick black transition lines around the spalting. I also like the salmon colored “drip” flowing down from the rim. It looks like molten lava cooling as it flows. There is one repaired drying crack on the rim but it is shallow and permanently repaired. The coloration is very special, besides the salmon is green, black, amber, khaki, gray, cream, copper and brown. There is some small pitting in the heaviest spalt areas but they are sealed. This bowl has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
