This beautiful pommele sapele bowl has unbelieveable figure over it’s entire surface. To see the chatoyance the best, watch the video. This bowl was made from a plank I just bought from a company in Pennsylvania but sapele comes from Africa. From Wiki “Sapele is particularly prized for a lustrous iridescence with colors that range from light pink to brown and gold to red.” It smells like cinnamon when you sand it. While this bowl is functional and has a food safe finish, in between functional uses, it should be on display. This shallow bowl has a rounded. curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot.
