This small oak bowl has flame figure and swirling ray figure (the swirling reminds me of schooling fish). This small bowl was made from a kiln dried, quartersawn plank I bought in 1994 while we were building our house. I used most of these planks building the house but there were some left over. I have been collecting wood for over 50 years and am having fun turning it into bowls, hollow forms, cutting boards and puzzles. The larger bowls are made from logs I’ve gotten from downed trees and trees removed by tree services. This small oak bowl has a rounded, curved taper, undercut rim and a raised foot. It has a food safe, natural, oil finish.
