It's Been Awhile

I haven’t written a blog post since December. Lot’s has happened since December but let’s focus on what’s happening now. I’ve decided that my life’s calling isn’t teaching woodturning, it’s turning wood. As such I don’t need seven lathes for classes so I’m selling three of them. One was picked up last Friday. The other two are listed on NC Woodworker.

Who knew how difficult it would be to recover from a torn rotator cuff. To add insult to injury, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Hopefully I will regain strength and flexibility with time. I taking meds that seem to be helping. Right now the key is moderation. I turned for the first time in six months today.

I’m finally completely moved into the shop expansion. All the tools are ducted in to a cyclone dust collector. I’m starting to do flat work again. It’s less strain on my shoulders.

I’ve made a bunch of cutting boards, cheese boards and charcuterie boards. I’m putting them up on the website now. Watch for more in the coming weeks.
