Three
Some days everything just goes really well. Today was one of those days in the shop. I started off this morning on housekeeping duty. I was out of firewood in the shop. There were obstacles that had to be relocated to bring in firewood too. After a quick clean-up, I loaded a tractor bucket with firewood and brought it around. I have made “basket pallets” that hold a little less than a half cord of firewood. I dumped the bucket into the basket and used the pallet jack to move it to the woodstove. And then there was heat!
Next I finished a small, beautiful southern maple burl bowl. It has bark inclusions and is loaded with birdseye figure. I really like the very dark areas in this bowl.
Next I turned a small white oak wooden bowl from a quartersawn plank. The figure is lovely, especially the rays that form a circle on one side of the bowl.
Finally, I turned a very pretty spalted fiddleback big leaf maple wooden bowl. The fiddleback figure is very chatoyant.
