OK, It's Only One but...

I got tired yesterday, really tired. I unloaded the logs off of the trailer and sawed the first one into sections. The sections were too heavy to lift by hand. I rolled one into the tractor bucket, moved it to the shop and wrestled it onto the rolling cart. I wheeled it to the monster 36” bandsaw to slice it into two halves. It was too heavy to cut it safely that way. Back on the rolling cart, back to the tractor bucket and out to the yard. I cut a flat on each side then cut a slice out of the middle about 3” thick. That slice was to remove the pith, the heart of the log section. That left me with two halves.

It was very hot and humid yesterday. I was soaked after a few minutes of using the chainsaw.

I took the halves back into the shop, drew a circle on them and cut them round on the bandsaw. I mounted one on the lathe and turned a bowl. By then it was lunchtime. I went up for lunch. I can count the times I’ve taken a nap during the last ten years on one hand. Yesterday I took a nap after lunch. This is the only one I got done yesterday. I really like the brown spots and stripes.
